Wyomissing ATA Martial Arts

PARENTS EVERYWHERE ARE ASTONISHED BY THE IMPACT MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES IN Wyomissing ARE HAVING ON THEIR CHILD!

You might naturally associate martial arts with hollywood stunts and kicks and punches, but the self defense aspect of Martial Arts is just a part of it. Sure, children that learn Martial Arts develop the confidence to know that if they are being bullied, they have skills to defend themselves, but the truth is that the real skills we teach are how to defuse situations with words before they ever escalate to a physical level.

We teach Children to focus, and in this age of distractions and sensory overload, this is a skill that shows immediate results in their academic work.

Martial arts actually help teach self-discipline and socialization skills. In fact, many parents whose children have attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) report great success with these programs because self-control and concentration are exactly the skills underdeveloped in ADHD kids.

And did we mention Martial Arts are FUN!

Consider these benefits of Martial Arts when enrolling your child:

• Fostering self-discipline

• Boosting socialization skills

• Encouraging physical activity

• Learning to set and achieve goals

• Increased self-esteem

• Instilling a sense of respect

• Encouraging non-violent conflict resolution

• Improving listening skills

• Developing teamwork skills

• Improvement in other areas of life

What does "improvement in other areas of life" mean? It can mean a lot of things such as getting better grades in school, knowing how to use anti-bullying programs to prevent violence amongst peers, or simply the appreciation that comes from learning a difficult skill.

Perhaps most importantly, students learn that physical activity is a healthy way to have fun. With health problems like diabetes and obesity afflicting younger people more often, parents should take steps to help their children avoid similar issues. Children's martial arts gives them a fun way to exercise, learn crucial life lessons, and develop a sense of self-reliance.

At Our Martial Arts School we Teach the Same Values You Teach at Home.

"Our son JJ loves ATA! He has been attending since October 2014. He has learned so much in the short time of attending there. Not only the much appreciated self defense but also his behavior has changed! Thank you to all of the instructors! You really do put of the vibe that you love what you do!"

ATA Tiger Cubs

For our youngest martial artists. This program is based on our ATA Tigers program but focuses on developing a young child's motor skills and following directions.

Tiger Cubs uses the cartoon tiger characters to provide a relational point students can identify, each character symbolizing a value that is a foundation of the martial arts.

The skills they learn in our Tiger Cubs classes will help prepare them for preschool and our Tigers program!

Leadership Life Training

While Leadership is one of the attributes emphasized in all ATA programs, our Leadership program offers students an opportunity to lead others as they work toward an even greater level of achievement. This program creates leaders to meet the needs of our world through Songahm martial arts training, and these students are constantly taught to lead by example both in our school and in our community.

We require our Leadership students to step up their physical and mental training, and in return, they are rewarded with unique opportunities and advanced curriculum designed to bring out their personal best.

"Our son Erik started attending Wyomissing ATA last January, when he was three and a half years old. In the few months since then, we have watched him grow in his ability to follow directions, to actively show respect to his instructors, and to execute his forms with commitment and increasing clarity. Ms. Minnich is an exceptional teacher who has the capacity to command respect and to artfully guide students through progressively complex movement, all the while keeping them smiling. TaeKwonDo classes at Wyomissing ATA are a highlight in our son's week."
